Philosophy

Dr. Roanne Barnett has been in private practice for over 35 years and combines Interpersonal psychodynamic therapy with specialized trauma techniques to help with exceptional challenges in living.

Interpersonal psychotherapy is a collaborative endeavor to discover how you feel about yourself, your relationships and your past and your future. Working with curiosity, empathy and specialized skills can help you to figure out how to remove the personal roadblocks that interfere with living the meaningful life you choose.

The effects of ongoing atmospheric family trauma and/or discrete trauma can be diffused by combining interpersonal psychotherapy with EMDR, which works directly with the brain to discover the painful and life-limiting legacies of disruptive, abusive or otherwise extraordinary experiences. All modalities are engaged in a highly interactive manner.
